چکیده

In this study, Corynebacterium kutscheri infection was reported in Sprague-Dawley rats that were stressed due to intense exercise during an experimental study. Weight loss, indifference the environment, fluffy feathers, and hunched posture observed affected rats. The lungs contained numerous, randomly distributed, variably sized, slightly raised, cream-colored caseopurulent foci. There occasional weak adhesions between lung lobes adjacent costal pleura. Multifocal coalescing necro-suppurative pneumonia with intralesional scattered large colonies of bacteria histopathologically. Adjacent pulmonary parenchyma, interalveolar hypercellularity, type II pneumocyte hyperplasia, fibrinonecrotic vasculitis, pleuritis observed. Brown-Breen staining revealed gram-positive cocobacilli lesion areas. Furthermore, cardiac lesions which atria more severely than ventricles identified. This characterized by thickening epicardium infiltrates macrophages admixed neutrophils. rats, also involved underlying myocardium. Bacterial culture yielded positive growth for C. kutsheri from lesioned organ. Polymerase chain reaction used confirm presence genetic material kutscheri. As a result, it infected stress. Periodic controls have been suggested units where animals are both because its negative effects on results studies be conducted zoonotic nature.

The Effect of Moderate Intensity Running Exercise on Femoral Bone Microarchitectures in Ovariectomized Sprague-Dawley Rats

Background & Objective: One of the most serious health problems is osteoporosis and it is mandatory to find preventive methods to confront this difficulty. Non-pharmacological methods are in priority due to less side effects. This study investigated the effect of treadmill running exercise on bone microarchitectures in female osteoporotic rats induced by ovariectomy. Materials & Methods: 30 rat...

Chorioamnionitis and funisitis due to Corynebacterium kutscheri.

When isolated from the female genital tract, diphtheroids are usually regarded as commensal organisms. Corynebacterium kutscheri however is a pathogen in laboratory rodents. We report a case in which C. kutscheri was isolated as a pure culture from the umbilical cord and from other surface sites in an infant. Histological examination of the cord and membranes demonstrated the organisms within t...

Inherited resistance to Corynebacterium kutscheri in mice.

An analysis of the factors responsible for inherited resistance to Corynebacterium kutscheri was undertaken. Various inbred mouse strains were examined; these included the Swiss Lynch and C57Bl/l mice, their F1 and F2 progeny, and the progeny of the F1 backcrossed to each parent strain. Two modes of inherited resistance are described. An examination suggested that resistance as measured by the ...

Failure to respond to endogenous or exogenous melatonin may cause nonphotoresponsiveness in Harlan Sprague Dawley rats

BACKGROUND Responsiveness to changing photoperiods from summer to winter seasons is an important but variable physiological trait in most temperate-zone mammals. Variation may be due to disorders of melatonin secretion or excretion, or to differences in physiological responses to similar patterns of melatonin secretion and excretion. One potential cause of nonphotoresponsiveness is a failure to...

Acute exhaustive aerobic exercise training impair cardiomyocyte function and calcium handling in Sprague-Dawley rats

INTRODUCTION Recent data from long-distance endurance participants suggest that cardiac function is impaired after completion. Existing data further indicate that right ventricular function is more affected than left ventricular function. The cellular mechanisms underpinning cardiac deterioration are limited and therefore the aim of this study was to examine cardiomyocyte and molecular response...
